Covenant House Michigan Associate Board (CHMAB) is a group of like-minded young professionals who work together to make a positive impact on the residents at Covenant House Michigan through fundraising, social events, and resident activity nights.
In 2016, we launched the Young Professional Society (YPS) at Covenant House Michigan, based on successful models from other Covenant House sites. In 2019, we changed the name to the Associate Board to better reflect the level of leadership embodied in its members. Since its inception, members have raised close to $200,000 for CHM.
The Board recruits young, energetic professionals (ages 22-40) with a desire to have a positive impact on the lives of homeless youth. The group meets quarterly at CHM’s Detroit campus with an end in mind to engage and support an environment that promotes current and long-term investment in our work to end youth homelessness.
Members receive meaningful professional development, leadership and networking opportunities via fundraising and advocacy efforts to further increase the impact CHM has on homeless youth. Membership expectations include participating in the annual Sleep Out:Young Professional Edition, attending quarterly planning meetings and engaging in on-campus service activities with our residents. Additionally, as Covenant House Michigan continues to serve our youth in the safest, most effective way possible, members complete volunteer trainings as required. These trainings are web-based and self-guided for convenience.
The CHMAB of young professionals is currently accepting membership applications. To learn more about upcoming meetings or events, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 313.463.2010.
