Melissa Golpe has served at Covenant House Michigan for the past 12 years. In her current role as PR/Marketing Director, Golpe handles all aspects of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications with the primary goal of raising awareness of youth homelessness, advocating on behalf of the mission and youth served and raising funds to support it. She develops, writes and designs communication and marketing materials, develops and maintains relationships with donors, manages and executes all agency events, handles media relations and maintains and updates Covenant House Michigan’s website and social media. In addition, Ms. Golpe directs the Volunteer Coordinator and Community Liaison with the overall goal of presenting a unified approach to increase awareness, donations and service hours.
From 2005 to 2015, Ms. Golpe also handled marketing, PR and communication for Covenant House Academy, an alternative charter school that offers dropouts an opportunity to earn a high school diploma.
Prior to coming to Covenant House Michigan, Golpe worked at PRISM, Bassett and Bassett, Inc. and Nedd Detroit Public Relations where she coordinated PR efforts.
Golpe has a Masters in Communication Mass Media from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from St. Mary’s College.
She resides in Royal Oak with her husband.
