Hanes Partners with Covenant House to Donate Thousands of Pairs of Socks through the brand’s National Sock Drive

Michigan, 12/11/18 – This year, Hanes has partnered with Covenant House Michigan to donate thousands of pairs of socks to our youth through the brand’s National Stock Drive. As winter weather approaches, these socks could not have been donated at a more vital time. As the recipient of the donation, we are incredibly grateful for this generous gift.

Covenant House Michigan provides comprehensive services to young people experiencing homelessness in Michigan. Our agency offers vulnerable youth a bridge from homelessness to hope, providing them access to a wide array of essential services such as safe shelter, medical and mental health care, and educational and vocational assistance.

“Socks are something you take for granted. It’s not until you see a homeless youth with holes in their shoes and no socks, you realize just how much they need. They don’t even have that basic necessity. Hanes has stepped up to provide that much-needed resource to our young people, “ said Cynthia Adams, Associate Executive Director of Covenant House Michigan.

“We are Hanes is thrilled to partner with Covenant House again this year and incredibly proud to support the organization’s critical mission of supporting and housing America’s youth who need it most,” said Jamie Wallis, senior manager of marketing for Hanes. “Most of us take new socks and underwear for granted, but we know they bring great comfort to – and can make a dramatic difference in – the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Access to something as basic as clean, dry socks can literally save lives within our country’s homeless population.”

As a national partner of the sock drive, Hanes is offering its audience the opportunity to donate basic apparel (socks, underwear and bras) to all of those who are experiencing the detrimental, often traumatic, effects of homelessness. Your donation can be made through their the Hanes website (www.hanes.com/sockdrive).
